Photography that matches the stay

Guests book from photos, then judge you against them. We shoot hotel and venue photography on location: bedrooms and bathrooms, public spaces, food and drink, exteriors and the details that set you apart. A full day from £495 + VAT usually covers a small hotel's rooms and public areas; a half day from £295 + VAT suits a B&B or a refresh after refurbishment. Travel outside the Mansfield and Nottinghamshire area is quoted.

We plan the shot list around light: east-facing rooms in the morning, dining rooms set for service, exteriors at dusk if the lighting suits. Every image is edited for straight verticals and true colour, and supplied at sizes for your website, booking engine and OTA listings. We do not offer drone work.

Prices, fees and the DMCC Act

Since 6 April 2025, the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 bans drip pricing. The Competition and Markets Authority's price transparency guidance says the headline price must include mandatory fees and charges, such as compulsory resort, booking or service fees and applicable taxes. Optional extras can still be shown separately.

That affects design: rate cards, offer graphics, wedding package brochures and adverts all need the total price to be the prominent one. We lay out pricing panels so the all-in figure leads and any breakdown sits underneath. You confirm the figures; we make sure the layout does not hide anything.

Watch the phrases that tend to cause problems. A 'rooms from' price needs to be a rate a guest can actually book, with any compulsory charge already in it. A wedding package that adds a mandatory service charge or corkage at the end should show that in the package total, not in a footnote. Where a price genuinely cannot be calculated in advance, such as a per-head figure that depends on final numbers, we lay out how it is worked out next to the price so a couple can estimate it themselves.

Star ratings and awards

Quality marks are powerful, so they are policed. The CAP Code says marketing must not display a trust mark or quality mark without authorisation, and the ASA upheld a complaint against a hotel that displayed an AA star rating it had not been awarded. VisitEngland's quality assessment scheme, run by Quality in Tourism, offers star ratings for hotels as well as a Quality Assessed level without stars.

We only add star rating, award or Visitor Ready logos from the artwork the scheme sends you, and we keep a list of where each one appears so it can be updated or removed when a rating changes.

Brochures, menus and in-room information

Wedding and events packs are often the biggest piece of print a hotel produces. We design them as brochures from £295 + VAT with a print version for show rounds and a lighter PDF for email enquiries. Pages typically cover the spaces with capacities for each layout, sample menus, packages with all-in prices, accommodation and terms.

Restaurant and bar menus follow the same allergen principles as any food business. In-room guides work best as a short, well-designed folder or a digital directory reached by QR code, covering Wi-Fi, breakfast times, fire procedures and local recommendations. These are charged at £45 an hour + VAT or quoted.

Signage and a consistent brand

Wayfinding is part of the guest experience. Room numbers, directional signs, lift and stair signage, and fire assembly point signs should share one typeface and colour system with your logo and website. We design signage artwork as vector PDF for your sign maker, sized for viewing distance.

If your brand needs a refresh after a change of ownership or a refurbishment, a brand identity pack starts from £395 + VAT. For the website itself, our sister company builds hotel sites at dijitul.uk.

Frequently asked questions

How much does hotel photography cost?

dijitul's hotel and venue photography starts from £495 + VAT for a full day on location and £295 + VAT for a half day. A full day usually covers rooms, public areas, dining and exteriors for a small hotel. Travel beyond Mansfield and Nottinghamshire is added to the quote.

Can we advertise a room rate without the resort fee?

Not if the fee is mandatory. Since April 2025 the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 bans drip pricing, and CMA guidance says the headline price must include mandatory fees and taxes. dijitul designs rate cards and offers so the all-in price is the prominent figure.

Can I show a star rating on my hotel website?

Only if your property currently holds that rating from the scheme, such as the AA or VisitEngland. Displaying a quality mark without authorisation breaches the CAP Code, and the ASA has upheld complaints about this. dijitul uses only the official artwork your scheme provides.

Do you design wedding brochures for venues?

Yes. dijitul designs wedding and events brochures from £295 + VAT, with a print version for show rounds and a smaller PDF for email enquiries. Typical pages include spaces and capacities, packages with all-in prices, sample menus and accommodation.

Can you photograph food in our hotel restaurant?

Yes. dijitul can include food and drink in a hotel shoot or book it separately, with dishes styled from your own kitchen. A half day is from £295 + VAT and a full day from £495 + VAT, with travel quoted beyond the Mansfield area.

Can you design in-room guides?

Yes. dijitul designs printed in-room folders and digital directories reached by QR code, covering Wi-Fi, dining times, fire procedures and local tips. This work is charged at £45 an hour + VAT or quoted as a fixed price once we know the page count.
