Product photography that meets marketplace rules
Online, the photo is the product. We shoot product photography from £25 + VAT per image at your premises, so stock does not need to be posted anywhere. For marketplaces we follow each platform's rules. Amazon's main-image rules, for example, call for a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the actual product only with no added text, graphics or watermarks, and the product filling around 85% of the frame. Amazon's zoom needs at least 1000 px on the longest side; we supply 2000 px so there is headroom.
Secondary images are where you sell: scale shots, details, in-use photos and packaging. On your own website you can be more creative, but keep backgrounds and lighting consistent across a range so category pages look tidy. If a product range is reflective, such as glass, chrome or jewellery, tell us in advance so we can plan the lighting for it.
Shelf labels and the 2026 price marking changes
The Price Marking Order 2004 requires clear selling prices and, for many goods sold by quantity, a unit price. Amendments came into force on 6 April 2026, after the start date was moved back from October 2025. Goods sold by weight must now show unit prices per kilogram and goods sold by volume per litre, loyalty or member prices need their own selling and unit price shown clearly, and the list of goods needing unit prices has widened to include products such as cleaning products and cosmetics.
For a small retailer the practical job is a shelf-edge label template that has room for both prices, a unit price in a readable size, and a version for promotional prices. We design those templates for your label printer or sheet stock, and keep them in your brand colours and fonts so the shelves look like your shop rather than a cash-and-carry. Check your products against the official guidance; we design the layout, you remain responsible for the figures.
Windows, signage and point of sale
Your window is the most-seen design you own. Seasonal window vinyl, hanging signs, A-boards and counter displays should share the same fonts and colours as your fascia, so a passer-by recognises you before reading a word. We supply signage artwork as vector PDF with your sign maker's bleed and cut lines, and size text for the distance it will be read from.
Point-of-sale cards, gift vouchers, loyalty cards at 85 × 55 mm and branded carrier bags are charged at £45 an hour + VAT or as a fixed quote. Print is quoted separately if you want us to arrange it.
Price claims and sale graphics
Sale graphics are designed in a hurry, which is when mistakes happen. Since 6 April 2025, unfair commercial practices are covered by the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and the Competition and Markets Authority's price transparency guidance expects the price you advertise to include any mandatory charges. A 'was' price should also be a price you genuinely charged, not one chosen to make the discount look bigger.
We build sale templates where the 'now' price, the 'was' price and any conditions all sit together, so nothing important ends up in tiny print at the bottom. You check the numbers; we make sure the layout is honest and clear.
Social media that looks like one shop
Retail social feeds suffer from too many templates. A social media graphics pack from £99 + VAT gives you a small set of reusable layouts for new stock, offers, events and quotes, in your colours and fonts. For Instagram we currently design feed posts at 1080 × 1350 px (4:5), which still works for paid ads, and stories at 1080 × 1920 px.
Pair that with consistent product photography and your grid starts to look deliberate. If you want a new online shop to go with it, our sister company builds websites at dijitul.uk.

Frequently asked questions
How much does product photography cost for a shop?
dijitul's product photography starts from £25 + VAT per image, shot on location at your shop or warehouse. Larger shoots can be priced as a half day from £295 + VAT or full day from £495 + VAT. Travel outside the Mansfield and Nottinghamshire area is added to the quote.
Will your photos meet Amazon's image requirements?
dijitul shoots Amazon main images to its published rules: pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product alone with no added text or watermarks, and the product filling about 85% of the frame. We supply 2000 px images so they qualify for zoom. Always check Seller Central for category-specific rules.
What changed in shelf price labelling in 2026?
Amendments to the Price Marking Order 2004 took effect on 6 April 2026. Unit prices must now be per kilogram or per litre, loyalty prices need their own selling and unit price, and more products need unit pricing. dijitul designs shelf-edge label templates with room for these prices.
Can you design window graphics for my shop?
Yes. dijitul designs window vinyl, hanging signs and A-boards as vector artwork your sign maker can cut or print, sized for the distance they are read from. Signage design is charged at £45 an hour + VAT or as a fixed quote, and printing and fitting are quoted separately.
Do you shoot lifestyle product photos as well as white background?
Yes. dijitul shoots both: clean white-background images for marketplaces and catalogues, and lifestyle shots in a real setting for your website and social media. Lifestyle shots are shot on location, so tell us what setting you have in mind and we will quote.
Can you make social templates my staff can edit?
Yes. dijitul's social media graphics pack, from £99 + VAT, can be supplied as editable templates in the tool your team already uses, so staff can drop in new products and prices without changing fonts, colours or layout.
