Design for Oldham businesses
Oldham was one of the world's great cotton-spinning towns, and many of its mills now house small manufacturers, wholesalers and warehouses. Today's manufacturers work in food, packaging, electronics, textiles and engineering, and most are family-owned firms with tens rather than hundreds of staff. Hollinwood, Chadderton, Royton, Shaw and Failsworth hold most of them.
Wholesalers and distributors need trade catalogues and price lists that customers can use quickly, with clear product codes, pack sizes and photography. We set catalogues up in InDesign so next year's prices can be updated without rebuilding every page. Small food and packaging manufacturers need product packaging, carton prints and sell sheets for buyers.
Oldham's restaurants, takeaways and sweet centres are a big part of local life, and many are family businesses with strong links to the town's South Asian communities. They need menus for the counter and delivery apps, illuminated sign artwork, window vinyl and food photography that makes dishes look as good as they taste. We often design menus in two or more scripts where owners supply translations.
