Design for Retford businesses
Retford is a historic market town in Bassetlaw, north Nottinghamshire, and the second largest town in the district after Worksop. It has held a market for centuries, and the Market Square with its town hall is still the heart of the town. Independent shops, cafés and pubs around the square need shopfront signage, A-boards, menus, loyalty cards and social media graphics that give each business a clear identity.
The surrounding area is mainly agricultural, so farms, farm suppliers, agricultural contractors and food businesses make up a large share of local firms. They need branding that works on a gate sign, a trailer and a hi-vis jacket, labels for produce sold direct, and photography of machinery and land. Land agents, solicitors and accountants serving the farming community need stationery, sale particulars and floor plans for farmhouses and rural property.
Retford station is on the East Coast Main Line, giving fast trains to London, Doncaster and York, and the A1 runs just west of the town. Some engineering and distribution businesses have located on the edge of town for those links, and they need CAD drawings, livery and catalogues.
- Farms and agricultural contractors: branding, livery, produce labels
- Land agents and rural professionals: sale particulars, floor plans, property photography
- Market Square shops, cafés and pubs: signage, menus, social graphics
- Engineering and trades firms: CAD drawings, logos, leaflets
- Home-based professionals: stationery and a simple brand pack
The Trent valley to the east has long been home to power generation, with Cottam and West Burton's coal units now closed and new energy projects proposed, which may bring contractors and suppliers to the area. Because Retford is in Nottinghamshire, shoots here are local and we can easily meet in person.
