Design for Wrexham businesses
North Wales's biggest place gained city status in 2022, and the football club's Hollywood takeover in 2021 put it on screens worldwide. Underneath the attention, Wrexham makes things.
Its industrial estate, on the east of the city, ranks among the largest anywhere in the UK, home to a Kellogg's cereal plant, JCB transmission production and a long list of food, pharmaceutical, packaging and engineering companies. Their design needs are specific: packaging artwork built to strict dielines, labels with approved text placed exactly, technical drawings and 3D models for engineering parts, and product photography for trade catalogues.
For regulated products, the process matters as much as the design. Every proof carries a version number, approved text is never retyped, and final artwork is checked against the signed-off copy before it goes to the printer.
With more visitors arriving for the football, city centre pubs, cafés, hotels and shops get more from match day menus, posters, window graphics and social posts that suit a wider audience than before, including visitors from abroad.
- Food and pharma manufacturers: packaging, labels, product photography
- Engineering firms: CAD drawings, 3D models, data sheets
- Contact centres: recruitment material, presentations, internal comms
- Pubs, cafés and hotels: menus, posters, social graphics
- Logistics firms: fleet livery, signage, tender documents
Moneypenny, the outsourced communications business, is headquartered in Wrexham, and outsourced service and contact centre work is a large employer. Those teams need recruitment campaigns, internal communications and presentation templates.
Being so close to England, plenty of local firms sell into Chester, Cheshire and the north west of England as much as with Wales. Some choose bilingual material for Welsh customers and English-only for others, which a well-organised set of templates handles easily.
