Design for Basildon businesses
Designated in 1949, Basildon was among the earliest post-war new towns, and the big employment zones laid out then still shape it. Ford develops vehicles at its Dunton Technical Centre, New Holland tractors roll out of the CNH Industrial plant, Leonardo designs and builds defence electronics here, and Costa Coffee's roastery is in Basildon too. Around those names, a long list of smaller electronics, engineering, print, packaging and building products companies work from estates such as Southfields and Burnt Mills.
Subcontractors feeding large automotive, agricultural and defence customers are asked for a lot of paperwork, and drawings are usually at the centre of it. The design work we see from Basildon firms includes:
- CAD conversion of old drawings, scans and PDFs into editable DWG or 3D STEP
- Detailed part and assembly drawings with tolerances, finishes and revision blocks
- Packaging artwork and dielines for printers and converters on the estates
- Product photography of components and finished goods for catalogues and websites
- Capability brochures and tender documents for firms entering new supply chains
Because the A127 and A13 run straight to the M25 and London Gateway, distribution firms need fleet livery, warehouse signage and recruitment adverts. Construction and trades businesses, a large part of the local economy, need logos, van graphics, site boards and leaflets. Festival Leisure Park and Eastgate add restaurants and retailers that need menus and promotional print. We design all of this remotely from Mansfield with fixed prices agreed first. Photography is shot at your unit, yard or shop in Basildon, with travel quoted before booking.

Frequently asked questions
Can you convert our old paper drawings into CAD in Basildon?
Yes. dijitul converts scans, PDFs and paper drawings into editable CAD at £45 an hour + VAT. We redraw to scale using the dimensions shown, flag anything unclear rather than guessing, and supply DWG, DXF and PDF, or a 3D STEP model if your customer needs one.
Do you set up packaging artwork on a printer's dieline?
We do. Packaging design is quoted per job or charged at £45 an hour + VAT. dijitul places artwork on the converter's dieline as a separate layer, with bleed, glue areas and barcode quiet zones respected, and supplies a press-ready PDF in CMYK or with Pantone spot colours as specified.
Do you work with firms in Wickford, Billericay and Thurrock?
Yes. All of our design is remote, so a subcontractor in Wickford, a trades firm in Billericay or a distributor in Thurrock gets exactly what a Basildon client gets. Photography trips across south Essex are priced separately with travel shown.
