Design for Basingstoke businesses
Basingstoke grew quickly as a London overspill town from the 1960s and is now one of Hampshire's main commercial centres. Basing View, next to the station, is the traditional office quarter and is being redeveloped. The AA has its headquarters in the town, and insurance, financial services and technology firms are spread across Basing View, Chineham Business Park and other parks on the edge of town.
Office-based businesses here need consistency across a lot of people. Presentation design with locked master slides, Word report and proposal templates, customer letters that match the brand, internal campaign posters and recruitment graphics all help a large team look like one company. Insurance and financial services firms also need plain-English customer guides, where layout and typography make complicated terms easier to read.
The M3 and fast trains to London Waterloo make Basingstoke a practical base for distribution and logistics, with large warehouses on the edges of town and manufacturers and trade counters at Daneshill and Houndmills. These firms need fleet graphics, warehouse signage, safety posters, product catalogues and photography of facilities.
Festival Place is the main shopping centre, The Anvil is a well-known concert venue, and Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital is a major employer. The surrounding villages have many home-based consultants and small trades who need a logo, van graphics and a set of social templates.
