Design for Winchester businesses
Winchester was the capital of Alfred the Great's Wessex and is now Hampshire's county town. Hampshire County Council is based here, and with the Crown Court and county offices the city supports a large professional community: solicitors, barristers' chambers, accountants, surveyors, planners and environmental consultants.
Professional and consultancy firms need careful, well-typeset documents more than flashy marketing. Planning and environmental consultancies in particular produce long reports with maps, site plans, diagrams and appendices, and a strong InDesign or Word template saves hours on every project. Diagrams and infographics that explain a planning process or an environmental impact clearly can make a submission easier to follow. Law firms and chambers want refined branding, letterheads, guides and consistent headshots.
Education is a defining feature of the city. Winchester College is one of the country's oldest independent schools, the University of Winchester is based here, and Winchester School of Art is part of the University of Southampton. Schools need prospectuses, open day material, signage and photography.
Tourism centres on Winchester Cathedral, the Great Hall with its Round Table, the water meadows and the High Street. The Christmas market at the cathedral draws large crowds, and independent shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants need menus, gift packaging and seasonal promotions. The surrounding countryside, including the South Downs, has estates, wedding venues and farms.
